This time of year, especially, I am finding a need for some bowls with a low profile and the weight of pottery. When I am out in the garden, fumbling with some seed packets, I use one bowl to keep the packets from blowing away and the other for placing the seeds in. It's nice to be able to have a need and then go and make it by myself for myself.
