Pot on a little pedestal

To make life a little easier for myself when it is time to glaze, I have been adding or carving out a pedestal. It's so much easier to hold the bottom for a quick dip or two in the glaze bucket with a base like that. Allowing the pot to sit up a bit higher off the table gives it more height and presence which are good features for a little lidded pot to have. This pot has such a think layer of cream glaze, which thankfully did not blister, that you can feel the ridge of the drip. As you can see I was playing around with the lighting. One of these days I'll get it right.
